Your oral health is so important, and there are a few signs that you need to go and see your dentist if you haven’t been recently. They might be a very small sign, but it isn’t something you should ever ignore when it comes to your oral health. You Haven’t Been In The Last 6 Months

The first sign that you need to see your dentist is if you haven’t been in the last 6 months. This is the ideal amount of time between your appointments, as sometimes there might be an issue that only your dentist can identify and no other signs come up! These can be serious issues, like gum disease or mouth cancer, so it is so important you go every 6 months. They will also be able to remove any plaque buildup between the teeth, which when left for much longer than 6 months, can start to become very damaging. Overall, it is absolutely vital for your oral health that you see your dentist every 6 months, as they can pick up issues that you might never have known existed. 

Your Gums Bleed When You Brush or Floss

Another sign that you need to go and see your dentist is if your gums bleed when you brush or floss. Many people pass this off as just them brushing too hard, but it can actually be a major sign of gum disease for many people. So, it is so important that if you notice blood when you are brushing or flossing, that you go to your dentist. Even if it doesn’t turn out to be gum disease, your dentist will be able to give you advice on why your teeth and gums might be bleeding and how to avoid it. Either way, if you notice bleeding, go to get your teeth checked out. It’s better to be safe than sorry! 

You Have Any Tooth Pain

If you are experiencing any kind of tooth pain, then make sure that you go to your dentist. Tooth pain can be a sign of all kinds of problems, from tooth decay to damaged pulp and so much more. This isn’t something that should be ignored, and when you are proactive and go to your dentist early on, not only will the treatment likely be much less invasive, but also much cheaper. Even if you take painkillers and it eases the pain, you should always go to your dentist. It’s such a simple thing compared to the need to have really extensive and expensive oral health treatments, so just make sure you book an appointment as soon as you can and you won’t regret it! Even if it costs a bit up front, you will reap the benefits later down the line, trust us.
