Just When You Think You Missed It!

by Tony Veroeven

It’s been a few weeks since our first webinar, “Social Media at Events.” We received great feedback, and many have asked for the slides. Here at Engage365, we love to go the extra mile, so instead I’m posting the recording plus the handouts! But here’s the catch… you have to be an Engage365 member to watch it.

Watch now! Check out the “Social Media at Events” recorded webinar. We used a Twitter Back Channel (#engage365) during the webinar. We captured the conversation as a “transcript“.

What We Learned from Our First Webinar

Webinars are a great way to reach a lot of people and disseminate information at a low cost. I’ve attended plenty of webinars, both good and bad, and I love putting them together for the Engage365 community. After our webinar last month, we asked for feedback. Attendees mentioned they wanted more case studies and specific examples. Because of this feedback, we were able to go get the details we needed to round out the content.

Our lessons learned:
•    Make certain your webinar gives real-life examples that others can relate to, and make sure you give case studies that are parallel to their own situation.
•    If you’re putting on webinars, be sure to test your content against a small crowd before launching it to the masses. This way you can work out your kinks as well as refine your content to meet the needs of your audience.

Inside the Community

It’s official. We’re engaging! If you haven’t been checking in lately, you’ll notice that the community has been very active.

•    Matt Baehr asks a very good question, one that epitomizes the need for Engage365. He asked, “What to do when your attendees are not that technical?” There’s little doubt that Matt is not alone in this challenge. Click here for the thoughtful responses, and share your thoughts on this subject on how your organization can relate.

•    Some of the *tongue in cheek* “rowdy”  bloggers  have chimed in on “What a Blogger Wants.” Looks like Event Planners should take notice of bloggers’ needs. They are both influential and a great resource for the event and its attendees. Be a part of the banter now

BTW
Have you heard of Tweckling? (Twitter + Heckling)…I just did! Stay tuned later this week. We’ll tackle this subject and how it’s something you may encounter some day.
